Overheard in Law School (from 10/04/08)

The first-year law students of The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law have some interesting quotes of the week at Fight the Hypo,

Crim Law Professor:

Yes. Orgy killings are bad.

Con Law Professor

Well, lots of stuff is unconstitutional. It just hasn’t been litigated yet.

Classmate’s facebook status:

What is it about this class that makes time stand still?

  1. Just don’t ask us what that first quote means. It happened in the class where time stands still and we weren’t totally paying attention. :)

  2. For a collection of gems from the Robson Hall Faculty of Law: http://lawschoolnotes.ca/quotes

  3. Here’s a quote from a class I promptly dropped after 1 session:

“the relationship to what is non-subjectivity is abstracted from, and is a kind of repository of negative consequence for which we must make amends…”

This is word-for-word what the prof said. McGill Law. Amazing, eh? And for anyone thinking that I’m taking it out of context… if you can tell me what context this quote could possibly fit into, I’ll be happy to “make amends” :)

And here’s a link to my blog post on the same issue: http://www.costaragas.com/blog_permanent.php?blog_id=14
