Canadian Prince of Pot Marc Emery has agreed to spend 5 years in prison.
A lot of Canadians (myself included) had been outraged that he was going to be easily extradited, and vilified, for a crime that the Canadian government chose not to pursue.
The U.S. government calls the mail-order pot-seed salesman the biggest drug dealer in history, because they consider each seed to be equivalent to one marijuana plant, or one pound of the stuff.
We all know that at the very least, they have bigger fish to fry.
The U.S. government spends more money on anti-drug enforcement than anybody in the world, and the citizens have less trouble finding their drug of choice than anybody else.
How is that?
Emery says that he’s “going to do more time than many violent, repeat offenders”
“There isn’t a single victim in my case, no one who can stand up and say, ‘I was hurt by Marc Emery.’ No one.”
Sure, Emery. Tell that to all of the Canadians who rely on the export of actual marijuana to the U.S.!
