		<description>It&#039;s misleading to say that Victoria&#039;s population is only 80,000.  The region has many municipalities, and the census data for for Greater Victoria Area shows a population of about 330,000 (http://www12.statcan.ca/english/census06/data/profiles/community/Details/Page.cfm?Lang=E&amp;Geo1=CMA&amp;Code1=935__&amp;Geo2=PR&amp;Code2=59&amp;Data=Count&amp;SearchText=victoria&amp;SearchType=Begins&amp;SearchPR=01&amp;B1=All&amp;Custom=).  It&#039;s important to use the greater Victoria population, because UVic isn&#039;t even in Victoria: it straddles the border between Saanich and Oak Bay.

It&#039;s a smaller city, but it&#039;s certainly not as small as 80,000 would suggest.
