The Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada launched an essay competition for law students earlier this week.

This essay competition is designed to encourage students in law schools and legal studies programs across Canada to join us in exploring the challenges, critically reflecting on the issues, and contributing to the expanding community of thought on privacy.

The essay must be written on one of the following four topics and submitted by May9, 2009,

  1. Information technology and privacy
  2. National security and privacy
  3. Identity integrity and protection
  4. Genetic privacy
