“Judge Made Me Rub Her Feet”

Suspended Nevada state judge Elizabeth Halverson is facing fourteen counts of judicial misconduct.
The allegations against Halverson include: the mishandling of trials, falling asleep on the bench, and mistreating her employees.

This week testimony was heard from a former bailiff, Johnnie Jordan, who broke down as he described how he was made to perform demeaning tasks for Halverson, and made to feel as though he were her personal servant.

“It’s not right. What does it say about America? What does it say about the president of the United States? If you guys allow her to be in office after all of this what does it say about all of you? What does it say? This is bull crap. I was up here robbed of my rights, my dignity, how would you feel if it happened to you, how would you feel?”

Jordan alleges that on numerous occasions he was asked by Halverson to:

rub her feet, give her back massages, put on her shoes, change her oxygen bottles and pick up papers, cookie crumbs and sunflower seed hulls strewn on the floor of her chambers.

Judge Halverson is also reported to have frequently referred to her staff members using derogatory terms such as:

the elf, the evil one, bitch and the Antichrist.

Seven members of the Nevada Judicial Discipline Commission will decide whether or not there is enough evidence to have Halverson removed from the bench. Halverson has been suspended for over a year, but still collects her annual salary of $130,000 and is running for re-election.

  1. Wow. I wonder if it’s any easier to remove him from the bench in the US than it is in Canada.
